Series Description:
Everything you know about werewolves is only the beginning.
Aaron Darveau believes he picked up exotic beauty, Karen Argali. But a month later when the moon rises full, he finds out she chose him . . . as the next Wolf King. Aaron thinks he wants the position, but walks away when he learns he has to sacrifice innocent lives to keep the peace with an ancient order of werewolf-hunting, warrior priests.
Gritty and suspenseful, Howlers takes the reader on an adventurous ride that interweaves with history from Prohibition through the 1980s.
Author Bio For Tom Sutherland:
TOM SUTHERLAND holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and owns an industrial software engineering company, neither of which has anything whatsoever to do with werewolves . . . or even the expertise to write about them. Tom lives in Hickory Creek, Texas with his family and Lex the Wonder Dog.
Acknowledgements:
This is my first book. Well, it’s the first one I’ve completed anyway. I’ve half a dozen more scattered around on various hard drives and floppy disks (yes, floppy disks). I would like to say I wrote Howlers: Lupus Rex all by my lonesome, in a closet, without any input from the rest of the world, but I would be lying. Too many people have given up their own valuable free time to read it and give me feedback. Some only made it a chapter or two, and some made it the whole way through. I don’t blame those who didn’t make it all the way. Their help and input was just as welcome and as valuable as those who did slog their way to the end. Proofreading a book is hard work. I didn’t realize how hard it was until I finished the first draft on the last chapter. I suspect my volunteers didn’t either when they first agreed to help me.
I am going to thank each and every one of these individuals here. Without them, this book would not be as good as it is. If I’ve forgotten anyone or there are mistakes found within, it is my fault and my fault alone, and I should be flayed for such an atrocity.
Angela (my wife), Anne Hood, Amy Storey, Becky White, Beth McClure, Beverly Nielsen, Cheryl Hogue, Chuck Rogers, Eric Curtis, Darlene Covich, Heather Smith, Jeff Jordan, JoAnn Hall, Keith Cleary, Kerby Pierre, Leah May, Marie Chase, Matthew Vaughn, Matthew Wilson, Megan Nieman, Michelle McLaren, Mike O’Neal, Pam Percle, Sasha Miller, Steve Conner (my Tai Chi Sifu), Stuart Spivey, Tim Clary, Tom Tweeddale, Tony Womack, Tracie Lenard, Vicki Christensen, Wendell Whitaker.
